Clubs and Societies
The incorporation of work and study is the key element in Birla School Pilani. All the students are obliged to acquire practical experience during their
academic education. The concept of Clubs is seen as an opportunity for adaptation to life in the group, forming good life long habits and cultivating the spirit of volunteerism. Club activities supplement academics and give the students practical training which they require in day-to-day life. In the school, various club activities are organized giving an opportunity to the students to showcase their latent talent.
The primary activity of this club is to create an interest among children for reading and writing. There are so many other attractions and diversions that a child of today has to face. As a result, the reading habit is taken for granted. The activities of this club include reading short stories of different authors, discussions on plot and characterization and also encouraging them to write short stories, poems etc. This club also involves activities that inspire students to present their view points. Various activities like debates, group discussion is conducted throughout the year.
The students learn yoga to achieve the integrated growth of mind, self – management of behaviour, thought and attitude. This also helps
students to develop a disciplined and wholesome personality.
The aim of this club is to familiarize the children with the common plants in the surroundings and at home and also to make them familiar with different growth patterns of plants during different seasons.
Students in this club are told that art and aesthetics is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creation, and modes of expression. The club promotes free thinking among students which helps them to produce aesthetic and vivid objects or experiences. Activities like sketching, colouring, painting, craft, paper folding are elaborately described to the students.
